Born on August 9, 1979, Kliff Kingsbury grew up in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to transitioning to a career as a professional coach, he excelled as a quarterback, notably playing for New Braunfels during his high school years.

Upon entering Texas Tech University, Kingsbury continued his football journey as part of the Red Raiders from 1998 to 2000. Post-college, he joined the New England Patriots in 2003 as a player. 

However, in 2007, Kingsbury opted to retire from his playing career, redirecting his focus solely towards coaching.

In 2004, Kliff Kingsbury embarked on his coaching career, commencing as a graduate assistant coach for Texas Tech. 

Progressing swiftly, he assumed the role of the official wide receiver coach for Texas Tech in 2006, a position he held with dedication until 2012.

His diligence and commitment eventually culminated in his promotion to the head coach position at Texas Tech in 2015.

Under Kingsbury’s leadership, the Texas Tech Red Raiders achieved a record of 35-40 over five seasons, earning him recognition as the Big 12 Conference Coach in 2016. 

Subsequently, in 2019, he transitioned to the NFL as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, where, over four seasons, their record stood at 28-37-1.

Following his departure from the Cardinals, Kliff has remained active in his pursuits and is set to make a return as the head coach of USC.
